Gold Coins by year from 1910 to 1810 1915
Gold $1 coins were first authorized in 1849. Consisting of only one dollar’s worth of gold, these coins are the smallest ever made by the United States. Coming along when they did, the first gold dollars feature the Liberty Head design then in fashion. However, in 1854 Lady Liberty donned an Indian headdress and the two types of Indian Princess Head saw the denomination through until its end in 1889.
