The 1943 florin obverse features the head of George VI facing left, with the legend: 'GEORGIVS VI D : G : BR : OMN : REX'. The 1943 UK florin reverse shows a crowned rose in the center representing England, a thistle bud to the left, representing Scotland, and a shamrock leaf to the right representing Ireland. The royal cypher, 'G' and 'R' is divided to either side. (George Rex). The main design is surrounded by a legend reading ':FID:DEF::IND:IMP:' above, with 'TWO SHILLINGS' and the date below.
