Hackers Steal Customer Data From Parking App

In a cyberattack on one of the largest parking applications in Europe, EasyPark, user data was accessed by the hackers. The parking operator has allegedly applied measures to stop the incident immediately. EasyPark Group, which owns brands such as RingGo and ParkMobile, claimed that while customer phone numbers, addresses, email addresses, and portions of credit card information were stolen, parking data was not affected in the cyber-attack.

Despite personal information being stolen and accessed by hackers, the company described the exposed details as non-sensitive as no combination could be used for payments. Still, the firm advised customers to be wary of phishing attempts.

The company stated that it had not received any ransom demands and was unaware of the stolen data being used or published. This isnt the first time ParkMobile, a brand under the EasyPark Group umbrella, has faced cybersecurity challenges. In 2021, ParkMobile suffered a massive data breach, affecting 21 million customers globally.
